Thanks to everyone who made 2024 special. I love you all very much and hope 2025 is great for all of us!

Thanksgiving, 2024!

It is that time of year for me to say Thanks! to
everyone who made 2024 special. A lot happened since last
Thanksgiving and narrowing this page down to 35 photos
was challenging. Use your cursor to rollover pictures or
tap on your iPhone to see all the pictures.
Thankful my good buddy, Mike, visited me and we
went to a Guardians game. Rollover that picture to see what I
look like traveling overseas. Seriously, that's Tintin, a
Belgium comic strip character greeting people at the Belgium
Comic Strip Museum in Brussels. To the right, I met up with
fabulous overseas buddy, Isabella, while in Salzburg, Austria.
Rollover that image to see me sitting anywhere I can at the
Prague rail station showing how glamorous overseas travel is.
Below (l-r) thankful I visited Deutsches Eck "German Corner"
in Koblenz, Germany where the Moselle and Rhine Rivers meet.
Extremely thankful I'm still playing basketball at 72 although
my doctor is making me wear a knee brace. Speaking of older
people, thankful to see Mick Jagger performing here in Cleveland
with the Rolling Stones.
Above (l-r) rollover images to see Greater Nevada Field, home of the
Reno Aces in the Pacific Coast League (Diamondbacks AAA), the 124th
stadium where I have seen professional baseball. Rollover the image to
its right and see spaetzle, a delicious German egg noodle dish, which I
had for dinner in Salzburg. To its right, thankful to visit Bruges in
Belgium and its Christmas market. To the left are my cousin Claude and
Kathleen's grandchildren who I'm thankful to have finally met. Rollover
that image and see Pegasus in the fountain at Mirabell Gardens in Salzburg.
Below left, thankful for postseason baseball as the Cleveland Guardians
made it to the American League Championship series. Rollover to see in
Dublin, Ireland the quirky statue of Irish playwright, Oscar Wilde.
Below middle, thankful to take the world famous Roaming Hooters T Shirt
to be signed by fabulous Hooters servers all over the world. Here I am with
Kaitlyn in Albany (NY) and Aneta in Prague. Thankful to attend the
Leopardstown Horseracing Festival in Dublin and rollover to see the
Christmas market in Kolbenz I was thankful to visit.
      Thankful to visit the Grand
Place in Brussels (above) bathed in
Christmas lights. Rollover the image to
see me with Ben, the son of a friend of
mine who is now a lawyer. Took this
when we ran into each other in court.
Above left, thankful to pay my
respects to distant cousin, Edward W.
Pearsall who died at 17 in the Civil War.
Rollover that image to see the great
breakfast that I had in Bruges.
To the left, thankful to visit
Baseball's Hall of Fame in Cooperstown
and be greeted by statue of Hank Aaron.
       Rollover that image and see
Christmas street performers in Dublin.
Below, great running into friend Alex
Painter in Cooperstown. Like me, he does
Negro League research. Also thankful
for Cleveland State University basketball
and the cheerleaders who come into our
section early in the games.

     Above, more picture of my
California relatives. To my
right is cousin Kathleen with
her fabulous daughters, Katelyn
on the left, Brittney on the right.
Rollover that image and see my
cousin Claude with me and
Katelyn's family.
     Above right, reconnected with
a really awesome former student,
Taylor, who is a great photo-
grapher. Below that picture is
a sculpture of Sigmund Freud who
hangs over the streets of Prague.
Rollover that image and see Santa
enjoying the day after Christmas
with a smoke at the horse races at
Leopardstown.
     Below, always thankful to find
a convenient laundromat to wash my
clothes like this one in Koblenz.
Rollover that image and find my
Christmas dinner which can be
challenging to find while traveling
around the holidays. This was fries,
chicken wings and chocolate milk.
     Finally, at the bottom, thankful
to be posing with the final class at
North Coast College which, sadly, just
closed. I have taught there since 2005
and was proud to have given the
commencement address at the graduation
ceremony. Rollover that image. Thankful
for my Canon digital Rebel and coffee
shops on my travels to take a break at.
