2022 New Zealand

Christmas Adventure - Auckland

I went to New Zealand at Christmas time, 2022.  I also took a day trip to Wellington and those photos will appear at a later date here. To the left is Sky Tower. Over 1,000 feet tall it was lit up in Christmas colors.

To the right, I pose at an Auckland Tuatara baseball game with the Teal Monster and Taiwan's mascot, the Formosan Black Bear. The boy is depicted yelling "Echo" after picking up his papers to sell.  To the right is a sign in Gaelic "Nollaig Shona Daoibh" which translates to "Merry Christmas to you."

Below left is the train out of Dublin and roll over that image and you will see the Cork rail station and my train back to Dublin. Below right, you can see one of the many Christmas trees in downtown Cork.

A lot of art in Cork including the painting below left. Below center is a painting made from handprints of Cork citizens who put their handprints on the wall during covid.

The River Lee runs through Cork, actually surrounding an island in the city. It is very picturesque. Bottom row center is a picture of Cork from St. Patrick's Hill which took 118 steps to climb. The church in the picture is St. Anne's Church, built in 1732. Finally, bottom row left, is a Christmas display at Casey's Furniture Store which has had a Christmas display for over 100 years.
